Description

UHC - This is an ultra-high contrast narrow-band filter, designed for observing the broad range of nebulae with 1.25-inch standard eyepieces or filter wheels. The bandpass is tighter than the CLS Nebula Filter, thereby blocking even more light from artificial lights and airglow.

Samuel J. ★★★★★

Finally got a clear night to test this on the Orion Nebula, and the contrast boost on the faint outer wisps was incredible compared to without the filter. The narrower bandpass really cuts through light pollution better than my old broadband filter. Definitely a keeper for nebula hunting.

Took it out on a crescent moon night just to see how it handled the skyglow, and the tighter bandpass made the Veil Nebula pop way more than my old broad-band filter. Only gripe is the 1.25-inch size means it won’t fit my 2-inch diagonal, but for eyepieces it’s a solid upgrade.

Finally got this filter to tame the light pollution in my backyard, and the difference on the Orion Nebula was night and day. The narrower bandpass really makes the faint wisps pop against a much darker background sky.
