Description

Explore Scientific Waterproof Eyepieces - Comfort, Quality, Value. The Explore Scientific 62° Series eyepieces are excellent flat-field multi-element oculars that can transform your visual astronomy experience. With an apparent field of view of 62 degrees and near parfocal design, these eyepieces offer incredible value in a very nice eyepiece.

Another great benefit of these eyepieces is the excellent contrast and ease with which you can gaze, not directly at an object, but slightly to either side. This skill, called using averted vision, is especially helpful when observing faint objects, because using averted vision puts the image on a part of your eye that is more sensitive to light, allowing you to see fainter images.

Customer Reviews (4.4 / 5 · 5 reviews)

Nicholas ★★★★★

The field is impressively flat from edge to edge with no blurriness, even when I'm not perfectly centered. The threading for the filter is smooth and the whole build feels solid in the focuser. Very happy with how crisp Jupiter looked last night.

Brian ★★★★★

I was worried the eye relief might be tight with my glasses, but I have no trouble seeing the whole sharp field. The AR coating seems to cut glare noticeably on the Moon.

Christopher W. ★★★★★

I've been using this eyepiece for a few weeks now, and the AR coating really cuts down on glare from nearby streetlights, letting me see fainter details in globular clusters. The 62° field is comfortable to look through with glasses on, and the twist-up eyecup locks firmly in place.
