Description

Introducing the Stellarvue Optimus eyepiece series. This 9 mm eyepiece is ideal for moderate power work on moons, planets and dark sky objects.

A 100 degree field of view provides the user with almost 1.5 times the area of an 82 degree eyepiece. When using hand driven alt-azimuth mounts this generous field will be appreciated. The eyepiece offers a generous 15 mm of eye relief and has a standard foldable rubber eye cup. Each of the eight elements are fully multi-coated, edge blackened and the lens barrel and baffles are similarly dark black. All of these factors add up to create an extremely contrasty eyepiece that is free of unwanted reflections, flaring or ghosting.

We recommend this as the ideal deep sky eyepiece for viewing nebulae, clusters and galaxies.

Scarlett W. ★★★★★

The 100-degree field of view is absolutely immersive on the moon, making craters feel like you're orbiting them. It snaps into focus cleanly with my scope, and the eye relief is comfortable even with glasses.

Ruby ★★★★★

I was skeptical about the eye relief on such a wide-field eyepiece, but this 9mm lets me see the full 110-degree view without my glasses smudging. Jupiter's bands and the Orion Nebula looked crisp and sharp right to the very edge. Definitely money well spent for planetary observing.

Christopher E. ★★★★★

The 110-degree apparent field is a game-changer—it feels like you're floating next to the moons of Jupiter, not peering through a lens. Even with my fast scope, the edge stays sharp and the eye relief is generous enough for eyeglasses.
