About the Astronomik MaxFR 31 mm H-alpha 6 nm CCD Filter

This Astronomik MaxFR 31 mm Round Mounted SHO 6 nm CCD Filters are the optimal narrowband filters for CCD astrophotography. With a 6 nm FWHM, this parfocal filter is ideal for standard CCD cameras, allowing very fast optics to be employed. The specific T-Max will be listed on the filter case. You can rest easy knowing that every unit is thoroughly tested and guaranteed to meet Astronomik's stellar benchmark of performance!

The contrast between objects with SHO emission lines and the skyglow background is greatly enhanced by the Astronomik MaxFR CCD Filter. In addition, this filter completely cuts off light from spurious sources such as the mercury and sodium-vapor lines from street lamps, making it an outstanding light pollution filter! Due to the Astronomik CCD substrate's high optical quality, you'll see the same razor-sharp stars if you use your regular telescope.

About the Astronomik MaxFR Filter Line

This high-quality line of astrophotography filters uses a built-in MFR coating technique to produce the best out-of-band blocking possible, from the ultraviolet to the infrared. The MaxFR filter line by Astronomik is manufactured using an entirely new process specifically designed for fast optical systems and focal ratios. This results in extremely high contrast with no haloing!

Customer Reviews (4.8 / 5 · 5 reviews)

James ★★★★★

I was a bit nervous buying used filters, but these look barely touched and the transmission rates for SII are fantastic. They work perfectly with my f/3.9 scope, no issues with the fast optics.

John ★★★★★

The Ha and OIII transmission numbers on these used filters are exactly as stated, and they work perfectly with my f/2.8 scope. For a fraction of new price, I'm getting crisp narrowband images without any halos.

Kevin A. ★★★★★

The transmission numbers on these used filters are still impressive—the 95% Ha pass is giving me noticeably cleaner data than my old set. Mounted them on my 1.25" wheel and they fit perfectly with no wobble.
