Description

The RST-135 uses a new type of gear called a strain wave gear. Due to the strong force provided by the strain wave gear and motor, a counterweight is not needed. The mount weights only 3.3kg (7.27lbs), but can carry a payload up to 13.5kg (29.76lbs). Rainbow Astro calls this breakthrough mount a Weightless Mount. The volume and weight of the mount is no longer a problem when travelling for astrophotography.

Madison B. ★★★★★

Even without a counterweight, this mount tracked perfectly steady all night – the strain wave gear really does make that possible. Setup was fast since it’s only 3.3kg, and the built-in encoders gave me pinpoint accuracy on every target I slewed to.

Leo Z. ★★★★★

I was worried about balancing a heavy telescope, but the strain wave gear completely eliminates the need for a counterweight. At just 3.3kg, it's surprisingly portable for such a sturdy mount.

Evelyn T. ★★★★★

Setting this up was a breeze since the strain wave gear means no counterweight to fiddle with. The whole thing weighs just 3.3kg, so it's easy to carry outside. First night out, it tracked smoothly without any issues.
